Alex Magallan is in Austin kipping on the floor of Platt/Mastroni/22's place. Here's proof.

Danny Hickerson has a bike check up on the T1 site. Pretty much all his parts are classics that we try to keep in stock all the time....a much easier task now we've moved.

Garrett Reeves

Garrett is one of the new school of riders from the North East of the US that are changing the face of BMX. I like that these guys set up their bikes according to what they like rather than what they're told. Garrett has 8.8" bars and 14" rear triangle. On a semi-related note, Wave 3's (now with removable mounts) are coming soon in black or white.

Joss Fenn

Sunday UK's silent shredder has an edit up with a few clips filmed by Tonash in 08/09. For more on Joss check this month's Ride UK.

Garrett Reynolds

ESPN has a Garrett Reynolds bike check up....good to see home honesty here. Garrett is a beast and I guess Premium give him some leeway with regards to what parts he runs.

Fly P.I.C.

A few weeks ago we showed you the preview for Fly's Partners in Crime edit. Here's the finished edit with Stefan Lantschner (of Montana fame) and Daniel Penafiel. Enjoy.

Ride 137

There's quite a lot of cool stuff in the new Ride. GSport/Odyssey/BSD (but we're not here
to promote Grant's stuff) rider Mike 'The Jersey' Taylor is on the cover going over to pegs
in the snow. Elsewhere you can find out how to convert your Odyssey Aitken tyre for arctic
use and there's interviews with Simple's Oba Stanley and Odyssey's Tom Dugan (can you
say lookback?), as well as Sunday's Joss Fenn and Alex Mallagan.

Defgrip x Vincent Perraud x Simpel Session

Degrip has a cool gallery of photos from Simpel Session taken by Vincent Perraud. Check it out here.

Bar-b-q Edit

I guess you could argue this isn't strictly IMG related but it looks like a good time to me and features Odyssey's Chase Hawk and Tom Duggan.

Polish Rubens

Fly brought a new colourway named "aluminium" into the mix this order. We're big fans of 'high polish' parts and this fits right along side them. For whatever reason I missed these pedals but if you're after some 'rolls royce' CNC pedals then these are ballin.

Chase Hawk goes sideways

"Almost 13 months ago, Chase and I filmed this next bit. Oddly enough, we managed to complete the finished vid in just one weeks time after being asked to do it. If you know the both Chase and myself, you'll understand what kind of an accomplishment that was. ha ha ha . . .. Anyhow, Fox Racing had asked if we could film a " how-to " do a whipper. Chase sits amongst the top group of dudes that can whip em with as they should be whipped. I used one of my favorite "Explosions in the Sky" songs, which came from a limited edition cd that you could only purchase at one of their actual shows while they were on tour. The song fit perfectly. I tried and tried to get a confirmation from them to use the music, but I never heard back. So, that's why Fox could never put this edit out. And we didn't want the music changed, so it sat . . . . . The hardest part with the little project was recording the talking stuff. I always like to dig a little deeper when it comes to people talking. And I knew that Chase has chosen the path of riding the way he does through different influences throughout his life of riding bikes. So, sit back and enjoy the different ways a bike can be moved when you know the secrets. Cheers :)" Joe Rich

Simpel Session

In case you missed it, Simpel Session is pretty much Europe's (if not the world's) most popular BMX contest. So many amazing riders don't make the finals it's beyond belief (and in some cases reason). IMG brands did pretty good with Sunday/Odyssey's Gary Young, Fly's Sergio Layos, Proper's Michael Beran, and Mirraco's Harry Main all making the Top 12. Harry even threw a downside 3whip (now officially un-named the Ali whip) to bars. Above is Michael Beran with a bike whip. Below is the video action.

Sergio has a bike check up on the Ride US website. Check out his dialled Pantera right here.

Jake Seeley Edit

from Mike Mastroni.

Bonus Trivia:
This time last year I was in BCN with some of the Proper team when we rode past a pretty cool looking roller coaster rail. Ricky Adam mentioned he'd shot a photo of Jarrod Allen hopping out of one of those a few weeks prior.

A few minutes later we were back at the hostel and 'low and behold' in Proper's Myspace was a message from a Jared Allen. I told him of the remarkable co-incidence and arranged to send him a box parts....only later to find out this Jared Allen was Jared Allen Swafford and not the guy Ricky had shot hopping out of a roller coaster rail. Jared Swafford is another shredder with a similar name based in Austin, Texas who happened to share a flat with Joe Cox favourite Danny Hickerson.

As time wore on Jared got hooked up with Season Bikes and Proper's Mike Mastroni and Alex Platt came to England and slept on my sofas with Shane Rieder and Tonash. We had no idea that Alex (from Massachusetts) and Mike (from Connecticut) lived 20 only minutes apart and (although they'd met previously) were only passing acquaintances. Luckily everyone got along just fine and Alex and Mike travelled back to the US as firm friends...which is a good job because Sunday's Jake Seeley had added them both to the Garden team.

Season were keen to get a web edit of Jared and Mastroni is dope at edits. Before too long a plan was hatched for Mike to fly to Austin and get it done. At some point in the proceedings Alex and Mike decided they might want to escape the cold and move to Austin for a while. In the end they drove South with Seeley, filmed the edit and all three decided to move to Austin with Adam 22 and some guy I don't know called Grady.

In another strange turn of events Jim Cielencki decided Sunday Bikes should move to Austin and formed a distribution company called Full Factory carrying Sunday (Jake's sponsor) and Proper (Mike and Alex's sponsor) with Taj Mihelich (amongst others) and moved in alongside the guys from OTX design. At the roughly the same time Adam decided to start a new concept in distribution called Them carrying his own OSS brand along with Rich Hirsh's new venture called Stranger. OSS sponsored Jake Seeley, Alex Platt, and Mike Mastroni amongst others.

I really have no idea where I'm going with this but to me it's a pretty amazing co-incidence that Jake has ended up living in a house with Mike, Alex, and Adam in the same town as Jim C and Full Factory at least partly because of a Myspace conversation I had with Danny Hickson's room mate while in Barcelona exactly a year ago. I'm getting old.
